Fatima is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and is certified in Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Her work takes a trauma informed approach that includes focuses on physical and mental health. Fatima works with people from LGBTQ2S+ Communities and supports non-normative relationships. Fatima has professional and personal exposure to gender equity concerns, neurodiversity, and racism. 

Over the past six years, I have worked in mental health services. In this time, I gained knowledge in supporting people with a variety of mental health needs such as:

I am a Canadian born, Gujarati, Indian who grew up in the municipality of Richmond. I grew up with a dual cultural identity that left me feeling “different” than my peers. I experienced an identity and values crisis at an early age that had me facing difficult ethical and moral questions that shaped me into who I am now. While this is a simple statement that encompasses over thirty plus years of life, it is also always an ongoing growth and development. Mental health is a journey of self-discovery and growth. While I am ongoingly working on improving my wellness, I have come to an awareness of self that has developed into my identity. 

I take a compassionate, mindful, and purposeful approach to therapy. The intention is to create a collaborative, and safe space for all. Whatever the need is, let’s work together to explore what your mental health needs are and begin the process of discovering your growth mindset.
