Lily is a Registered Clinical Counsellor. In her work, she focuses on life transitions, intersectional identities, immigration, grief & loss, depression & anxiety, and queer parenting. She works from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and relational lens. Lily has training with Somatic Experiencing (SE – level I), which enables her to help people to notice physical sensations stemming from their mental health issues and to use that awareness to work through painful feelings and emotions.

As a lesbian woman who grew up in a country torn by religious and political conflict, my intersectional identities greatly impacted my path in life. I carry different identities that often don’t align with the acceptable “norm”, and I experience first-hand the prices these conflicts bear on one’s wellbeing and mental health.

In my work with clients, I strive to create a safe space for clients to explore their authentic selves and to find their voice. I believe the healing starts when we can narrate and share our own stories. I work with the client to help them locate their inner answers and skills and to bring them to the surface. We work together as co-authors to re-write their personal stories and to shine a light on their strengths, abilities, and talents that would otherwise remain hidden.

I engage clients with empathy and acceptance within a safe and respectful environment. I practice collaborative work with clients and appreciate working with people from diverse backgrounds and lifestyles.

I am an Approved Counsellor for the Crime Victim Assistance Program through the B.C. Ministry of Justice.
