Growing up in the Catholic Church, I was raised believing in certain values and principles. As a child, a lot of these teachings appeared to be focused on love and acceptance as part of their core values. Yet when I started growing older and formulating my own thoughts and beliefs about the world around me, I felt confused by what was being taught to me. I began to realize that there were contradictions in these teachings, that only certain people and certain parts myself were welcomed and deserving of love and respect. Coming from a background of performance and theatre, I was surrounded by such diversity of people and experiences, yet it did not feel like there was room for all of us in the narrative that was being prescribed to me. This in turn impacted my ability to understand the many parts of myself and feel free to be my proudest and queerest self from a young age. For my own journey, this required leaving those institutions behind and building my own intimate relationship with myself, my spirituality, and my queer community for me to eventually be able to find healing, growth, and pride in who I am and my place in the world.

We are relational beings, constantly striving to navigate and understand our changing identities and the relationship we have to ourselves and the world around us. The people we meet and the places we visit create definition to those narratives, but it is how we chose to define those experiences that have the most impact on us. In our therapeutic work together, I strive to provide a safe space for clients to express themselves and feel empowered, recognizing the intuitive knowledge that we all possess about who we are and how we want to live in the world. I am passionate about working with individuals to explore the intersection of their identities, including neurodiverse, non-monogamous and non-normative identities and relationships, in order to help facilitate integration and healing. Together, using a trauma-informed and culturally-competent lens, we will work to explore these identities, relationships, and narratives that we hold in our lives, in order to generate awareness, gain insight, and feel empowered to be our most authentic selves.
